Now that the new hotness from Samsung, in the form of the Galaxy S4, is out of the proverbial bag, the waiting has begun in earnest. And as everyone knows, the waiting is, indeed, the hardest part.
Fortunately, those of you who want to order a Galaxy S4 and don’t mind using AT&T’s network, don’t have to wait quite as long as the rest of the population. That’s right, starting on April 16th, AT&T will be taking pre-orders for the Galaxy S4.
No, you can’t actually buy one and have it in your hands on the 16th, you can only pre-order it. The best part? AT&T has not given an actual release date for the device yet. Huh.

As expected, Samsung revealed a new flagship smartphone in its quest to beat Apple and dominate the world during a press event today. That device: the Galaxy S IV.
Based on earlier leaks and reports, the device’s specs are pretty much known. However, that doesn’t make them any less impressive. In fact, they’re quite impressive indeed.
The Galaxy S IV sports a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080p HD resolution, an Exynos 5 Octa eight-core processor in the international version and a quad-core Snapdragon chipset in the U.S. version, a 13-megapixel rear camera, up to 64GB of storage, 2GB of RAM, microSDXC support and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
It’s not all specs, though, as the new device also features some cool stuff to try and further separate it from the pack. From facial recognition for touch-free controls and adaptive sound and display functions, to new social features and a completely overhauled camera, Samsung has really gone above and beyond to make this device stand out.
Samsung’s full press release follows after the break. This really looks like a great device. Maybe it’s time to consider and Android phone and give up the iPhone? Maybe.

With Samsung’s press event a short time away (tonight at 7PM Eastern, to be exact), more photos and videos have come out showing the new hotness that is the Galaxy S IV. These new leaks leave little doubt as to what the new device will look like and to most of its cooler features.
The high-quality photos, curtesy of IT168, show the handset’s sleek design in sharp detail and pretty much confirm what everyone already thought it would look like. The videos also do pretty much the same and highlight several of the features of the Galaxy S IV including floating touch, a new lock screen and the devices speed at browsing the Internets.
The Samsung Galaxy S IV is expected to feature a 5-inch Super AMOLED HD display, an eight-core Exynos processor or a quad-core Snapdragon chipset depending on region, up to 64GB of storage, 2GB or RAM and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
Check out the photos and the videos after the break.

It wouldn’t be close to the time of release of a new, amazing, smartphone without some leaked videos purporting to show said smartphone hitting the Internets. The smartphone in question this time? The Samsung Galaxy S IV.
That’s right, a hands-on video has hit the Interwebs which features a device that seems to be very similar to other leaked images of the Galaxy S IV. In fact, it really looks a lot like the new device is supposed to look.
For those still on the fence as to the Galaxy S IV’s awesomeness, you should should remember that it’s supposed to feature a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080p resolution, an eight-core Exynos chipset, up to 64GB of storage, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel camera, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and new touch-free control features that work by tracking the user’s eyes.
It tracks your eyes. . . Come on, that’s pretty darn awesome. Check out the video after the break.

This comes directly from the “obvious to anyone with eyes” department. In a unanimous decision the jury in the landmark case of Apple vs. Samsung has found that Samsung did infringe on Apple’s patents with a number of its devices.
Samsung has also been found guilty of willful infringement for most patents for most of the company’s devices. In addition, all of Apple’s patents were found to be valid, leaving Samsung with no damages being awarded and in a pretty bad positon.
The jury has awarded Apple over $1 Billion in damages. I guess a billion dollars is pretty cool.
What does this mean for the tech industry? It’s too soon to tell, but it probably means we can look forward to an Apple vs. Google/Motorola lawsuit soon enough.
It also probably means that companies are going to have to work a lot harder to differentiate their devices from Apple’s. Well, at least the very successful ones like Samsung will. HTC is probably pretty safe. And Nokia. Sorry guys.
More on this as it develops. . .
