Earlier this year Zack Snyder stepped outside of his comic book world to do a film that looked like it belonged in a comic or video game, but came completely from his amusement park of a brain. That film, of course, was the action-packed blockbuster Sucker Punch.
For those who missed the action while it was in the theater, or loved it so much that you want to see it again at your leisure, we’ve got an awesome giveaway for you. Check in on our twitter account this Thursday for a Sucker Punch related trivia question, and you can win the following:
• $5 cable cash code
• Bomb Tee
• Bunny icon hat
• Sticker
• Post-it Pad
A pretty awesome prize pack for a pretty awesome film. And if you’re in the minority who has yet to check this movie out yet, check out the fully synopsis after the jump.
Be sure to keep an eye on our Twitter account this Thursday, June 23rd.

Welcome to another edition of On the Radar where we delve into all corners of the entertainment, tech and geek Internets for news, views and whatnot that may have escaped our regular coverage during the week. Let is know if we missed something interesting.
Let’s get started!
• Getting ready to wrestle with the Gods this May in Thor? This Behind-the-scenes featurette should help you get ready for battle.
• As if we needed another reason to pick up Portal 2 next week, we can now spend an extra to get some sweet gear upgrades, like special boots that won’t let you die!
• Remember ElfQuest? We kind of do, too. A few die-hard hotties decided to stop waiting for a film and make their own by prancing in the woods wearing very little clothing and tons of makeup. We approve.
• This one has been surfing around the net all week, and is proof that given the chance, the next generation of kids will, in fact, choose the Dark Side.

This week on The Flickcast Chris and Matt have no guest and have to go it alone. Fortunately, that’s just what these two rogue adventurers love to do.
So, with that in mind, the discussion turns to topics including Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch, Green Lantern casting news and controversy, Natalie Portman’s, um, acting in Your Highness, AMC vs. Matt Weiner for the fate of Mad Men season five and the latest costume and potential fate of the new Wonder Woman TV series.
And for a third week running, no Charlie Sheen. We know you appreciate it. Gifts of cake are always appreciated.
Of course, your hosts also made some picks this week including Matt’s pick of Repo! A Genetic Opera (yep, you read that right) and Chris’ pick of the sadly short-lived Aaron Sorkin series Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.
As always, if you have comments, questions, critiques, offers of sponsorship or whatever, feel free to hit us up in the comments, on Twitter, at Facebook and MySpace or via email.

While all of this Superman news has been surfacing for Zack Snyder, most should remember that between now and then, we’ve got a full world of cerebral kung fu and militant battle sequences to look forward to with Sucker Punch.
For those who don’t know, Snyder’s world of hot chicks with guns has a pretty intricate plot. Here’s a synopsis:
Set In The 1950’s into the vivid imagination of a young girl placed at a mental institution by her step-father some time after her mother died, with only her dreams providing the ultimate escape from her darker reality. Unrestrained by the boundaries of time and place, she is free to go where her mind takes her, and her incredible adventures blur the lines between what’s real and what is imaginary.
Between the chick-heavy, star-studded cast, Inception-style plot, and tons of machine guns, dragons, and robots, this is setting up to be one of the most fan-friendly films in theaters for quite some time.
Take a look at the new trailer after the jump, and catch Sucker Punch in theaters on March 25th.

We saw a teaser trailer a few months back, but Zack Snyder’s eagerly anticipated Sucker Punch got an official full-length trailer release. The trailer has Snyder’s fingerprints all over it. It is highly stylized, dark, and features lots of his signature slow and fast motion sequences.
If you are already a fan of Snyder’s work, you will probably be pleased, but this movie probably won’t convert any naysayers. Snyder previously directed 300, Watchmen, and Legends of the Guardians.
Snyder wrote and directed the action movie, which stars a bevy of beauties: Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, Vanessa Hudgens, Jamie Chung, and Carla Gugino.
Galliantly trying to offset all that estrogen will be Scott Glen and Jon Hamm. The film looks like a trippy fantasy ride partially taking place in a prison, but it looks like all sorts of creatures show up in the movie.
Official syynopsis from Warner Brothers: Sucker Punch is an epic action fantasy that takes us into the vivid imagination of a young girl whose dream world provides the ultimate escape from her darker reality. Unrestrained by the boundaries of time and place, she is free to go where her mind takes her, and her incredible adventures blur the lines between what’s real and what is imaginary.
The film is slated to open on March 25, 2011, but you can check out the brand new trailer after the jump. Enjoy!

Like his movies or not, make no mistake, Zack Snyder is one of the most interesting directors working today. His trademark visual style and imaginative creations, honed with the release of 300, are remarkable in so many ways. Sure, his films don’t always make a ton of money (like in the case of Watchmen) but they do pack a visual punch and in most cases it is difficult to look away from the stunning images unfolding before your eyes.
Snyder’s new film Sucker Punch looks to further enhance his reputation as a visual virtuoso. Previously, we brought you some pictures of the main female cast of the film. Now, we’ve got the new trailer for Sucker Punch which promises to capture your imagination.
In the trailer there is so much going on I had to watch it several times to try and digest it all. I would try to describe it for you here but in truth it’s just better if you watch and digest it yourself. Then, let us know what you think of it in the comments.
Check out the new trailer after the jump. Sucker Punch opens in March of 2011.

To get things started off right, Warner Bros. has released six character posters for Zack Snyder’s upcoming Sucker Punch. The posters feature Emily Browning as Babydoll, Vanessa Hudgens as Blondie, Abbie Cornish as Sweet Pea, Jamie Chung as Amber, Jena Malone as Rocket and Carla Gugino as Madam Gorski.
This film is set in the 1950s and follows Babydoll who has been confined to a mental institution by her stepfather. He intends to have her lobotomized in five days because he’s not a nice man. In fact, kinda a dick. To hide her from the pain while there, imagines an alternative reality and in that world, begins planning her escape by finding five objects.
In addition to the ladies mentioned above, Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch stars Jon Hamm, Michael Jai White and Scott Glenn. It hits theaters in march of 2011.
Check out larger version of the posters after the jump.

One of my biggest unrequited crushes for years now is the talented and beautiful Carla Gugino. Her work in projects from Karen Sisco to Entourage, Sin City and Watchmen has, at least to me, elevated her status as not only a world-class beauty but a terrific actress as well. And even though she seems relegated, at least up to this point, to supporting roles in bigger films, at least she seems to pick pretty good ones.
Case in point, director Zack Snyder’s latest Sucker Punch. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Gugino has now joined the cast of that film, which already includes a host of other attractive and talented women such as Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, and Abbie Cornish. As you may already know, the film focuses on a girl (Browning) who is sent to a mental institution by her sinister stepfather who is planning to have her lobotomized in five days. Once imprisoned, she dreams of escape, which leads her to fall into an alternate reality where she, along with her inmate friends, does escape.
If that sounds a bit odd or familiar to you, never fear. The film is in the hands of Zack Snyder, who describes it as “Alice in Wonderland with machine guns.” Unfortunately, since we already have our “Alice” and a bunch of the other residents of the institution, what does that leave for Gugino to do? According to the trade, she’ll be playing the role of “Mrs. Schultz, an adult figure in the institution.” Which of course, could mean almost anything.
Whatever happens and however Gugino’s character evolves, we’ll find out soon enough as Snyder expects to start shooting Sucker Punch in the Fall for a release on March 25, 2011.
