We don’t listen to the rumors surrounding the upcoming release of a new Apple product. Well, not very often anyway. Still, it is sometimes fun to speculate a little as to that the company may end up bringing to the table.
This time around our subject of speculation is the iPhone 6. We know there’s going to be one and we know it will likely come out in June or July. We also know it will probably have a larger screen.
But what will it really look like? This video, made by YouTube user Concepts iPhone, may just be able to tell us.
We won’t go into too much about the video itself because really, if this is your thing, you should just watch. After the break, of course.

Yesterday, a video surfaced on a random YouTube page titled REVEAL PLAYSTATION 4 PS4 E3 2013 新しいプレイステーションE3プレゼ. Since most people over here in the US don’t read Japanese, they just assumed this as a mark of authenticity and speculation began running wild. Although later disproven when Sony, the king of “no comment”, actually remarked to Kotaku that the ad was a fake, the damage had been done and arguments had already began, friendships were ended and wars were started.
But why the debate? We have already seen what is arguably the most important aspect of the PlayStation 4 with the reveal and that was the gameplay. The only thing of significance “revealed” for the first time was the actual PS4 console. Does what the box itself looks like really matter? I don’t know about you but the box itself isn’t the visible focal point of my entertainment setup. While everything is either going into the XBox 360 or PlayStation 3, I never actually care to look at it as I am playing.

When people think of Bethesda right now, two things come to mind. Fallout and the Elder Scrolls. So when a video surfaced today on Vine from Bethesda Softworks featuring a spinning LP and barbed wire, it isn’t an unfair assumption to think it may be related to Fallout. After speculation quickly popped online about The Moonlight Trio and George Shackley LP as well as the flashes of Johann Sebastian Bach (who was featured on the Fallout 3 soundtrack) and Air on the G String from the gaming press, Bethesda VP of marketing and PR Pete Hines replied on his Twitter account that this wasn’t the case.
Obviously this isn’t a new Oblivion since the online title is already announced an on its way. But what could it be? The first option is Project Zwei, which is a survival horror game being published by Bethesda under the development of Resident Evil designer Shinji Mikami.

Despite Sony rumors running rampant throughout most of February before the PlayStation 4 announcement, the XBox 360 was still the top selling console of the month. Making it now twenty-six months in a row, the XBox 360 topped both the PlayStation 3 and Wii which came out after it in its generation as well as the latest generation’s entrant, the Wii U. With this momentum, does Microsoft really need to announce the next XBox, and if so, when?
Right now, Microsoft has the benefit of learning from Sony’s lessons that were painfully learned from the PlayStation 3 launch which Sony never fully recovered from. When the PS3 launched a full year later at a higher price point than the XBox 360, even the system’s power and free online network weren’t enough to make up the deficit.

The other day when interviewed by a Chicago reporter from WGN9 at a ceremony for *Michigan Avenue* magazine, Harrison Ford was asked about the rumors of the “old gang” getting back together for the next Star Wars. Ford hesitantly replied, “I think it’s almost true. I think… I’m looking forward to it. It’s not in the bag yet, but I think it’s happening.” When listening to Ford, you can tell there’s more that he knows than he is allowed to say and until all the I’s are dotted and T’s are crossed, he probably isn’t going to be saying more.
Ford. Hamill. Fischer. All on screen together again. It really is a Star Wars fan’s dream come true. But that begs the question, what is going to happen in the new films featuring these main characters from the original trilogy?

After longstanding rumors that Half-Life and Team Fortress developer Valve were in the process of developing their own console/gaming rig were debunked finally, the “Steam-Box” is finally available for preorder. Rumors began after Valve was said to be involved with the Xi3 hardware developer.
It was clarified today on an article on IGN.com from a Valve spokesperson, “Valve began some exploratory work with Xi3 last year, but currently has no involvement in any product of theirs.” But luckily for Xi3, the reputation and possibility of Valve entering the hardware market carried over to their Piston console which has been referred to up until its recent reveal as the “Steam-Box”.

Earlier this month, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot revealed that there would indeed be a new Assassin’s Creed title released in fiscal 2014 (April 1, 2013 to March 31, 2014) from the publishing giant. He also noted that it would be taking place in a new location with a new lead character as well.
After the ending of Assassin’s Creed III, many were speculating if this only meant Connor being replaced or if the modern day Desmond would be on the chopping block as well. Well, speculate no longer it seems.
Yesterday gaming news site Kotaku reported a leaked marketing image and the name Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. The image shows a hooded assassin character holding a sword in one hand and pistol in another while surrounded by pirates. This would fit right in with Yves’s statement about a new hero and location.

Assassin’s Creed became a major player once Ubisoft put a huge marketing and development budget behind it to help create one of their AAA titles. It was no surprise that they would attempt to bring it to the big screen like they did with Prince of Persia and plan to with Splinter Cell. But while Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell have had and will have seasoned writers feature film writers at the helm, a virtual unknown to Hollywood is being given the reigns of Assassin’s Creed.
According to Heat Vision, Michael Lesslie will be taking on writing duties for the Assassin’s Creed film. British, there isn’t much else known about Lesslie aside from a few short films. While some may see it as a risky endeavor for Ubisoft to give a multimillion dollar franchise to a virtual unknown, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time proved that even with a more veteran writer the success of a movie based on a gaming franchise wasn’t a guarantee.

Star Lord. Groot. Drax. Rocket Raccoon. Since the huge success of the Avengers including the post-credit reveal of the big bad behind everything, there have been rumblings about the Guardians of the Galaxy making their way to the big screen. Last night during the Marvel party, lots of discussion was overheard that let the cat out of the bag that Marvel’s cosmic crusaders will be officially revealed today.
Though details like who will be taking on these roles are shrouded in secrecy, it is still exciting to see Marvel give the Guardians of the Galaxy their own feature film. Especially with Marvel putting their cosmic franchises like the Guardians and the Annihilators on hiatus and other powerhouses like Nova MIA.
Stick to The Flickcast for more on Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy from San Diego Comic-Con 2012.

There have been rumblings all week leading up to the Marvel Games panel taking place this Saturday at San Diego Comic Con. Activision has stated they will reveal a new Marvel game from the team at High Moon Studios, the same team currently working on Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. The team at Beenox has held the reigns strong for the Spider-Man franchise and there hasn’t been any word on a new X-Men game since X-Men Destiny. Could it have been a post movie release tie-in to the Avengers franchise that THQ had abandoned?
The rumor going around the interwebs right now is a pretty shocking one as it is a character that not many people are even familiar with. Created in 2010 by Daniel Way, Hit Monkey has found his way into crossing paths with some of Marvel’s most iconic characters such as Spider-Man and Deadpool. Supposedly, earlier in the week a website was preemptively published http://hitmonkeygame.com/ which contained a teaser image for the game. The site has since been pulled down.
Despite the character’s lack of mainstream popularity, Hit Monkey actually offers players a lot of gaming opportunities in line with what Activision has successfully published. While the FPS genre is still Activision’s bread and butter, the team at High Moon Studios has had success with the third person gameplay of Transformers. Considering the high acrobatics of Hit Monkey on top of the gunplay, this certainly seems like a reasonable possibility.
