For the record, I am not a ‘tween girl. In fact, I’m no kind of girl at all. Perhaps that’s why I just don’t get the whole Twilight phenomenon.
The books are not very well written, the story is cliche’ and the characters are drawn from the worst sort of tepid, melodramatic sources. Still, it is hugely successful as a book a movie series. Maybe ‘tween girls know more than I do? Who knows.
Whatever the reasons, Twilight is huge and the final filmic installment of the franchise is almost upon us. That means, of course, promotional material.
This time around said promotional material takes the form of a new teaser trailer for Breaking Dawn Part 2. This particular one shows us the trio and how things have changed for them, but in other ways, have stayed pretty much the same. Oh, and Bella needs a snack.
Check out the new teaser after the break. See what all the fuss is about when The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 hits theaters on November 19.

Though it’s not the full trailer, the official “teaser” for the trailer has made its way onto the internet for the final piece in Summit & Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn Part 2.
That’s right. It all comes down to this. From what we’re hearing, this is possibly the most action-filled story in the entire franchise itself. Here’s a quick rundown.
After the birth of Renesmee Cullen, Bella, now a vampire, finds herself enjoying her new life and abilities. However, the vampire Irina misidentifies Renesmee as an “immortal child”, a child who has been turned into a vampire, and because immortal children are uncontrollable, creating them has been outlawed by the Volturi. After Irina presents her allegation to the Volturi, they plan to destroy Renesmee and the Cullens. In an attempt to survive, the Cullens gather other vampire clans from around the world to stand as witnesses and prove to the Volturi that Renesmee is not an immortal child.
Take a look at the teaser after the jump, and catch the film in theaters on November 16th.

With the Academy Awards still fresh in our minds, we can think of all the great films 20111 brought us. It is easy to forget that year also had tons of stinkers and flops, but the Razzie Awards are here to remind us.
The Razzie Award nominees have been announced, and their aren’t too many surprises. Adam Sandler has a record 11 nominations, and that’s not including nominations that are tied to his Happy Madison productions. Three films by the production company, Buck Larsen: Born to be a Star, Just Go With It, and Jack & Jill, all have multiple nominations each.
The Razzies, or Golden Raspberry awards, were created in 1980 as an antidote to the Oscars. They are usually held on the eve of the Academy Awards, but this year are moving to 1 April. Traditionally, stars do not turn up to collect their awards, but good sports over the years have included Paul Verhoeven in 1996 (worst director and worst picture for Showgirls), Halle Berry for 2005’s Catwoman and Sandra Bullock for 2010’s All About Steve.
Check out the nominations after the jump, and be sure to keep an eye out for these “winners” when they are announced on April 1.

As if it were a surprise. The penultimate film in the Twilight saga, Breaking Dawn: Part 1, opening in just over 4,000 screens across the nation, managed to pick up just under $140 Million in the domestic box office. It also got just over $280 Million worldwide.
With a production budget of $110 Million, and making $15 Million more than the opening weekend of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 1, Summit is sitting pretty high and mighty at this point. Also opening this weekend, Warner’s Happy Feet Two, which came in at #2 with $22 Million.
As expected, the rest of the box office took a bit of a hit due to all the vampire-on-werewolf action. Last weekend’s #1 hit Immortals took more than a 60% drop and only grossed an estimated $12 Million. Adam Sandler’s unfortunate new flick Jack and Jill came in right behind with just under $12 Million.
We expect Breaking Dawn to continue its success throughout the week, and possibly next weekend. Disney’s Muppets opens wide on Thanksgiving Day, so don’t expect to see the Twilight kids walk away completely unscathed after Kermit has his way with them.

We can’t really put into words our feelings about Twilight and it’s various big screen treatments. Suffice it to say there’s another movie coming soon called The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and we’ve got a preview for it to show you.
Not that you need any extra encouragement to see the upcoming movie. If you’re a fan of the series you’re going to go, no matter what. If you hate all-things Twilight well, then, you probably won’t — unless you get dragged there by some weepy female. Hey, we’ve all been there, there’s no shame in it.
Sometimes you gotta do things you don’t want to do to make other people happy. Or, to get some, shall we say, action.
Whatever you’re motivations, or lack thereof, look for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part One to hit theaters on November 18. In the meantime, check out the preview after the break.

It seems, according to this weekend’s box office report, that audiences still aren’t tired of 1994’s Lion King, even 17 years later. The film’s re-release in 3D has made the #1 spot again in two weeks, bringing in $22 million this weekend.
That ranks the film up to over $60 million in 3D, and over $400 million combined with the film’s original domestic total from the 90s. Not too shabby for a film that ripped off a Japanese anime series from the 50s.
The rest of the weekend’s releases weren’t too shabby, either. Brad Pitt’s Moneyball, which almost didn’t get made, pulled in $20.6 million at the #2 spot, while Morgan Freeman’s adventure saving a sea mammal in Dolphin Tale came in 3rd with just over $20.2 million.
The big flops of the weekend came in the form of the #3 and #4 spots. Taylor Lautner’s attempt at being Matt Damon in Abduction brought in $11 million, which is less than a third of the film’s production budget.
All the while, the action-packed Killer Elite, which had a production budget of $70 million, only brought in $9.5. Not a good sign for the DeNiro/Statham/Owen on-screen team.
Next weekend, a few possible sleeper hits with Universal’s Dream House, cancer drama 50/50, and the romantic comedy What’s Your Number?. Who will win? We’ll find out in one week!

For those who are clamoring for their vampire-on-werewolf action, look no further, as the first full trailer for Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 1 hit the internets today. This time, things get a little less romantic, and a little more like The Omen, as Bella’s pregnancy gets a bit scary. Here’s the premise for the first part of this story.
In the highly anticipated next chapter of the blockbuster The Twilight Saga, the new found married bliss of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) is cut short when a series of betrayals and misfortunes threatens to destroy their world.
After their wedding, Bella and Edward travel to Rio de Janeiro for their honeymoon, where they finally give in to their passions. Bella soon discovers she is pregnant, and during a nearly fatal childbirth, Edward finally fulfills her wish to become immortal.
But the arrival of their remarkable daughter, Renesmee, sets in motion a perilous chain of events that pits the Cullens and their allies against the Volturi, the fearsome council of vampire leaders, setting the stage for an all-out battle.
The suspenseful and deeply romantic Breaking Dawn continues the epic tale of supernatural fantasy and passionate love that has made The Twilight Saga a worldwide phenomenon.
Finally, for those who want a full review of the entire Twilight series so far, here’s Family Guy’s Chris Griffin to explain it all. Check out the new trailer after the jump and catch Breaking Dawn: Part 1 in theaters on November 18th.

This weekend we got the first look at the final Twilight film adaptation at the MTV Movie Awards. The story was broken up into two films with Breaking Dawn Parts 1 & 2.
The second and last film is releasing later this year and has a bit of a detailed back story, so be sure to keep up with this heavy plot.

Fans will be relieved to know that Eclipse is a vast improvement over its two predecessors, Twilight and New Moon. Director David Slade (Hard Candy, 30 Days of Night) manages to elevate almost every aspect of the film. There is a decidedly darker and edgier tone this time around, and it is a welcome change. It’s not a great film, but it is a lot more enjoyable than the first two.
For the uninitiated, let me quickly bring you up to speed on what has previously happened in the story. Bella (Kristen Stewart) is in love with a Vampire, Edward (Robert Pattinson.) He is part of a Vampire clan who will not feed on humans based on principle. They are “good” Vampires, if you will. In the same town there is a Quileute tribe who can shape-shift into wolves.
They have been sworn to protect their town from Vampires. One of the wolves (Jacob, played by Taylor Lautner) is in love with Bella, thus setting up a love triangle between Bella, Edward, and Jacob. Got it?
Slade immediately establishes that this is not going to be the same teeny-bopper fare with a brutal opening sequence that is worthy of any horror movie. A teenage boy is walking by himself at night and is stalked, assaulted, and murdered. There has also been a rash of murders in Seattle that carry the markings of Vampire killings.

This week on The Flickcast Chris and Matt chat about one of the bigger cultural events of this past weekend, the MTV Movie Awards. They delve into why people actually watch the awards, and some of their favorite moments. Plus, they talked all things iPhone 4, which was just announced this week.
Also, the boys weighed in on some pretty big casting news for Marvel fans with Stanley Tucci, Neal McDonough and Jeremy Renner joining various upcoming movies. Plus, they debated the various actors in the running to play the title role in the new Spider-Man reboot.
This week’s picks stayed in the realm of science fiction as Chris picked the recently released movie Splice, which is currently in theaters. Matt also stayed inside the sci-fi world as he picked the comic Serenity: Float On, which takes place after the film, and is written by comedian Patton Oswalt.
As always, if you have comments, questions, critiques, offers of sponsorship or whatever, feel free to hit us up in the comments, on Twitter, at Facebook and MySpace or via email.

About a month ago, we brought you the first look at this summer biggest vampire film based on a bestselling novel with Twilight: Eclipse. The film is the second to last in the series, which is followed by Breaking Dawn, which can’t seem to find a director or structure.
The trailer for the film seems to focus more on the action of the film, and less on the drama, which is a nice switch from the previous films. In this one, Jacob (Taylor Lautner) and his pack of family members must team up with the Edward (Rob Pattinson) and the Cullens to take down the rest of the vampire nation.
Of course, there is plenty of Edward-Bella-Jacob drama mixed in there, but it’s nice to think of a Twilight film to be about more than just an awkward love triangle.
Check out the first full trailer of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse after the jump, and be sure to catch it in theaters everywhere on June 30th.

Here it is Twilight fans your first look at the brand new poster for the upcoming third installment of the big screen Twilight franchise, otherwise known as The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. In this new poster it would seem the focus is shifting from our two male rivals Edward Cullen and Jacob Black towards our favorite female inhabitant of Forks, WA Bella Swan.
She’s front and center and clearly dominating the world these boys live in. Plus, as aptly described by the poster’s tagline of “It all begins with a choice” we know that Bella’s in the driver’s seat for this movie and probably for the rest of the series as well. Sure, she will probably be unsure and hesitate ,but in the end she’ll make the only decision possible and choose her true love.
Until then, you can count on lots of fighting, drama, rain, shirtless vampires and werewolves and teen angst.
Check out the full poster after the jump. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse hits theaters on June 30th.
