Summer is a great time for movies, especially if you’re a geek. With Iron Man 3 and Star Trek: Into Darkness already in theaters, we can next look forward to Man of Steel.
Another new trailer for the Superman reboot has arrived. In this one General Zod issues an ominous message to the people of the Earth: “Your world has sheltered one of my citizens. … To those of you who know his location, the fate of your planet rests in your hands.”
Uh, oh. Does Superman end up kneeling before Zod? What do you think?
Check out the trailer after the break. Man of Steel arrives in theaters on June 14.

We don’t want to say too much about X-Men Origins: Wolverine (Okay, it wasn’t great), but at least it did well enough for the character to get another chance at headlining a movie. And heck, who doesn’t want that?
We’ve already had a couple teasers/trailers so far and now there’s another new trailer that’s arrived for The Wolverine. This one will be attached Fast & Furious 6 in theaters this week so for some of you, this may be the only way to see it.
We kid, we kid. Anyway, this trailer continues the tradition of awesome and still makes us excited for the movie. It’s also nice to see a certain, hot, redheaded telepath in this one. Although, we don’t really need Wolverine to be quite so touchy-feely, but I guess you can’t have everything.
Check out the trailer after the break. Look for The Wolverine in theaters on July 26.

As we previewed early yesterday morning, the team behind Batman: Arkham Origins at Warner Bros. Games Montreal revealed an almost five minute long CGI trailer for the game yesterday afternoon. With it came the reveal of pre-order information, two new major characters and some interesting news on the voice actors.
From the initial teaser, it was already confirmed that Deathstroke would find his way into the game. It was announced today that those who preorder Batman: Arkham Origins would be able to play as Deathstroke. It will be in similar fashion to the Joker or Catwoman challenge maps of Arkham games past as well as contain two additional costumes for Deathstroke.
Additionally, the trailer reveals two characters. Black Mask makes his return to the series after a brief cameo in Arkham City. It should be noted that it is revealed in Arkham City that Black Mask was the only man to ever escape. In addition, Deadshot will be making a return to the series as well.

This past weekend at Dallas Comic Con, the voice of Batman, Kevin Conroy, confirmed he would be returning to the Batman: Arkham series in the upcoming prequel, Batman: Arkham Origins. After a rumor surfaced in April that Conroy was done with the series, there was a lot of hesitance from series’ fans that someone else may be voicing the Dark Knight (because they have heard what happens when Christian Bale does it).
Early in the video below, Kevin discusses his involvement in the project and how he has been working on it for more than nine months. There is tons of hype right now around Batman: Arkham Origins as teaser trailer featuring Deathstroke going toe to toe with Batman from last week revealed a longer version would be premiering later today. So far, we’ve seen a healthy number of Batman villains represented in the two previous Arkham titles but there is a lot of excitement as to who will make their Arkham debut this time.

Things come to a head and all hell breaks loose in the final episode of the season.
Oliver awakens, shackled up in a basement. Malcolm tells Oliver that he is truly sorry for what Oliver went through on the island. Malcolm believes he is honoring his dead wife in the same way that Oliver thinks he is honoring his dead father. Malcolm tells Oliver that he cannot beat him, because Oliver doesn’t know what his fighting for or what he is willing to sacrifice to get it.
Oliver manages to escape, with the help of Diggle, as apparently Oliver had put a tracking device in his boot. As they are waiting to hear from Felicity on the schematics of the device, Quentin confronts her. She is brought to the police station, but before he can get to far in grilling her, he receives a call from The Hood. The Hood tells him what Malcolm is planning, and in light of this new threat, Quentin lets Felicity go.
Tommy goes to the club to confront Oliver about him and Laurel, but instead Oliver tells Tommy of Malcolm’s plan to level The Glades. Tommy lashes out at Oliver, and says he wishes Oliver had died on that island.

In the comics world, writer Steve Niles has enjoyed (and does enjoy) a tremendous amount of success and respect. His major work, 30 Days of Night, was a master class in creating a high-concept yet deeply poignant and horrifically scary comic.
His latest creation, Breath of Bones, looks to be carrying on the fine tradition established by 30 Days of Night. The story is simple: The giant clay monster from Jewish legend goes on a Nazi-killing rampage in order to protect the inhabitants of a small Jewish stronghold and an injured British pilot.
But that’s where the simple ends. But to give away any more would be spoiling it for you. Instead, we’ve got some preview pages for you to enjoy.
Look for Breath of Bones #1 in stores June 12. Check out all the pages after the break.

Horror movies are a staple of Hollywood. So much so that they’re one of the most popular genres of all time. And now an upcoming movie is looking to take its place in the highest levels of the genre.
Said movie in question is I, Frankenstein, which pits gargoyles and demons against each other in the ultimate battle for immortality. From that description, the movie sounds a lot like a recent one that had vampires fighting werewolves.
Guess that could be because the producers of I, Frankenstein and Underworld are one in the same. Anyway, here’s a more complete description of I, Frankenstein‘s plot:
“Set in a dystopic present where vigilant gargoyles and ferocious demons rage in a battle for ultimate power, Victor Frankenstein’s creation Adam (Aaron Eckhart) finds himself caught in the middle as both sides race to discover the secret to his immortality.”
Check out the teaser after the break. Look for I, Frankenstein, which in addition to Eckhart stars Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto, Jai Courtney and Aden Young, in theaters next January.

Among fans of sword and sorcery epics and legendary characters, Robert E. Howard’s Conan is a big favorite. His exploits in comics, movies and more have entertained and enthralled millions around the world for many years.
And now, Conan is back again and Dark Horse has him in a new four-part miniseries from Fred Van Lente and Ariel Olivetti. The miniseries is alled Conan and the People of the Black Circle and it takes place a decade later than the current Conan ongoing series.
“I’m thrilled to be working from one of the best Conan stories Howard ever wrote, with the most interesting female lead and one of the Cimmerian’s most compelling adversaries,” stated Van Lente. “But what I’m most excited about is seeing what Ariel Olivetti does with my scripts—he was born to draw Conan, and his painted artwork should attract anyone who doesn’t know anything about Conan or Robert E. Howard but just loves things that are awesome.”
Check out the full cover after the break. Look for Conan and the People of the Black Circle #1 in stores October 16.

We figure Marvel and DC get enough coverage, so we mostly try to bring you news from the smaller, more indie publishers. This time around that’s Dark Horse and their upcoming book Dark Horse Presents #24.
This issue is special for many reasons, but the one were most interested in today is the debut of a brand new superhero in the Dark Horse universe: Blackout.
In Blackout, “the commonplace life of Scott Travers changes forever when he comes to possess an extraordinary piece of technology that allows him to access a mysterious dimension within our own.” Okay, that’s good so far. But wait, there’s more.
Blackout writer Frank Barbiere says, “Blackout has a very fun sci-fi/mystery mythology that comes straight from DH Publisher Mike Richardson, and I think readers will be surprised and intrigued by what we have in store for them! Working with artist Micah Kaneshiro is a delight, and I look forward to bringing our story to DHP.”
Catch Blackout appearing in Dark Horse Presents #24, on sale May 22. Check out the full cover after the break.

Ever wonder what the attraction to Lobo as a character was? Aside from being an amalgam of various comic tropes and stereotypes, something about him ended up resonating to the point that thirty years since his inception, the anti-hero (who is pretty much just such a badass villain that people still like him) finds his way to the roster of Injustice: Gods Among Us as the first of four DLC characters.
For those who purchased the Season Pass, Lobo was announced on launch day for the game as the first member of the DLC roster. From the video below, he looks like a combination of fighting styles of some of the other brute characters like Solomon Grundy or Doomsday with the gunplay of Deathstroke. The trailer also gives a brief history of Lobo and the concept behind him, and how Lobo started out almost as a parody before taking on a life of his own.
