We’ve already heard from some of the other networks and now it’s NBC’s turn to reveal its new Fall schedule. The official fall primetime schedule, which begins Tuesday, Sept. 13 with the season premiere of Parenthood, contains several new series as well as returning favorites.
It’s nice to know this info, but for us the most important thing is that both Chuck and Community are back this season. We would have missed them if they were gone.
Here’s the schedule. New shows are in CAPS and all times are Eastern:
Thursday, September 8
8-8:30 PM: “NFL Kickoff Special 2011” (regular season)
8:30-11 PM: “Sunday Night Football” (regular season)
Sunday, September 11
7-8 PM: “Football Night in America” (regular season)
8-11:30 PM: “Sunday Night Football”
Tuesday, September 13
10-11 PM: “Parenthood”
Wednesday, September 14
8-10 PM: “America’s Got Talent” (season finale)
10-10:30 PM: “UP ALL NIGHT”
10:30-11 PM: “FREE AGENTS”

Its that time of year. The time when networks announce their entire schedule for the Fall and Mid-Season. First out of the gate is NBC which is introducing 12 new series next season including six dramas and six comedies.
NBC has put six new series including the dramas including The Playboy Club, Prime Suspect and Grimm and comedies Up All Night, Free Agents and Whitney on the fall schedule and has slots reserved for Smash and The Firm in midseason. Drama Awake and comedies Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea, Bent and BFF have yet to be scheduled.
Of course, we’re glad to see some of our favorite shows returning next season including Community and Chuck. Oddly absent from the schedule at the moment is 30 Rock, which is apparently being postponed to make way for freshman comedy Whitney. Let’s hope it comes back soon.
Following is the full schedule, descriptions of the new shows and some preview video. This is a big one folks to read on.
*New programs in UPPER CASE; all times ET
MONDAY
8-10 p.m. – “The Sing-Off”
10-11 p.m. – “THE PLAYBOY CLUB”
TUESDAY
8-10 p.m. – “The Biggest Loser”

As things are just getting good on some of NBC’s biggest shows, it’s hard to believe that we’re in the home stretch for this season of TV. With just about a month and a half left, NBC has just released their final schedule of season (and possibly series) finales for this year.
No exact word on what will return just yet, but there are a few shows still on the bubble to be canceled. We’re looking at you, Chuck, Perfect Couples, and Outsourced). However, we’re still holding out that our favorite comedies such as Community, Parks & Recreation, and The Office will return.
With that in mind, here is the full schedule of season finales that the network has lined up, courtesy of Deadline. So prep your DVR’s and get ready for a whole summer of re-runs and off-season replacements.
MONDAY, APRIL 4
“Harry’s Law” (10-11 p.m.)
FRIDAY, APRIL 8
“Who Do You Think You Are?” (8-9 p.m.)
TUESDAY, APRIL 19
“Parenthood” (10-11 p.m.)
SUNDAY, MAY 1
“America’s Next Great Restaurant” (8-9 p.m.)

We’re back this month with Cortney’s TV Digest, everything you need to know about the latest and greatest shows on the tube. This month we’ve got some interesting new shows to tell you about from a bunch of your favorite networks, as well as the resurrection of one show we worried we’d never see again.

Parenthood – NBC
Based on the 1989 film of the same name, this new show is produced by movie and tv genius Ron Howard. The show follows the parenting experience of the Bravemen family: single mom Sarah (Lauren Graham), her brother Adam (Peter Krause) and wife Christina (Monica Potter) whose son is diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, and their headstrong father (Craig T. Nelson). Parenthood premiers March 2nd at 10 PM on NBC.
Southland – TNT
Back in 2009, NBC premiered their new, gritty cop drama, Southland. The show centered around Los Angeles and the members of the LAPD, including The OC’s Ben Mackenzie as rookie Officer Ben Sherman. Shortly before the beginning of its second season, NBC suddenly canceled Southland. It was doubtful whether we’d ever see the six episodes scheduled to air, but TNT swooped in and bought them, effectively saving the show from certain doom. The previous season began airing in January and season 2 starts on March 2nd.

Parenthood, which is based loosely on the Steve Martin comedies from a few years ago, is a new the new series from Brian Grazer and Ron Howard covering the ins and out and trials and tribulations of modern parenting. We’ve brought you some info on the show previously and now we’ve got even more info to bring you this time around about the show, its cast and creators.
In this series of nine video clips videos you get to know the main characters of the upcoming comedy. These clips showcase some footage from the series itself and interviews with the actors as they talk about their roles on the show. And, as a bonus, creators Ron Howard and Brian Grazer discuss the inspiration for the show which came from their real life parenting experiences.
With a cast that includes Peter Krause, Monica Potter, Lauren Graham, Erika Christensen, Dax Shepherd, Bonnie Bedelia and Craig T. Nelson, the show looks to have all the requisite acting power necessary. Combine that with creators/producers Ron Howard and Brian Grazer and it seems to have a great mixture for success. Let’s hope the show lives up to its potential.
Catch the premiere of Parenthood on Tuesday, March 2 at 10/9C on NBC. Check out all the videos after the break.

Because today is a holiday in the United States and I like to let the writers out of their cages once in awhile to get some air and sunlight, we will have a lighter posting day today. That doesn’t mean we won’t be putting up anything for you to read and enjoy. Quite the contrary.
We’ve got some great stuff today including a bunch of info from Microsoft’s recent X10 event like new screenshots from Halo: Reach and a trailer for Dead Rising 2, previews of NBC’s new comedy/drama Parenthood and, in honor of today, the debut of a brand new feature here at the site: War Movie Mondays.
So, be sure to check back throughout the day for all these great articles, and more, right here at The Flickcast. We’ll resume our usual posting schedule tomorrow. That is, if I can get all the writer back into their cages in time.

In case you didn’t know, NBC is taking a little break from its regular primetime programming soon to bring you about 10000 hours of the Winter Olympics. Then, after the Olympics are over, they will bring back all the shows you missed with brand new episodes. Plus, they will be debuting a few new shows as well.
Of course, one of our favorite shows, Community, will be returning and to get to you excited, NBC is bringing American Idol alum Katherine McPhee on the show and we’ve got a preview of that to share with you today. Also, the network will debut a new show, Parenthood, from Exec. Producers Ron Howard and Brian Grazer and based loosely on the film of the same name, after the Olympics.
We’ve got an extended preview of that show for you today as well. In the preview, the cast, which included Peter Krause, Monica Potter, Lauren Graham, Erika Christensen, Dax Shepherd and Craig T. Nelson, discusses the show and how it will find humor in real parenting situations.
Catch Community on Thursdays at 8/7C and Parenthood premieres on Tuesday, March 2 at 10/9C on NBC.

One of the nice things about working for a site such as this (besides the huge salary) is that you sometimes get to see things like movies and tv shows early. You also get a lot of trailers and promos thrown your way, which is pretty cool too. Case in point are the three promos NBC sent us today for some of their upcoming series and a tv movie.
We’ve been able to bring you some stuff about two of these shows, Parenthood and Community, before. But now we’ve also got some cool Meteor goodness to share with you as well. As a big fan of those 70s disaster movies like Towering Inferno and Earthquake, movies where a giant meteor is hurling towards earth and only a handful of people, including Marla Sokoloff (The Practice) and Billy Campbell (The 4400, The Rocketeer) can save us, hold a special place in my heart.
So naturally, I’m looking forward to NBC’s show about just that. Be sure and check out all the cool promos after the jump. Meteor hits your tv this Sunday at 9/8C. For all the info on NBC’s upcoming slate of other shows, head on over to their official site.

The good people at NBC have seen fit to send us some promos for three of their upcoming Fall tv series. The shows, Parenthood, Community and Trauma, each have recognizable and likeable casts, good production value and look to be worth checking out. Here’s a bit about each show.
Parenthood – From Imagine Entertainment’s Ron Howard and Brian Grazer, writer/executive producer Jason Katims (Friday Night Lights), and Emmy Award-winning director Thomas Schlamme (The West Wing) comes this contemporary re-imagining of the blockbuster film Parenthood, focusing on the everyday challenges that modern families face while raising children and starting over.
Community – From Emmy Award-winning directors Joe and Anthony Russo (Arrested Development) comes a smart comedy about higher education…and lower expectations. Community focuses on a band of misfits, at the center of which is a fast-talkin’ lawyer whose degree has been revoked (Joel McHale, The Soup). They form a study group and, in Breakfast Club fashion, end up learning a lot more about themselves than they do about their course work.
Trauma – From executive producer Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights), Trauma is the first high-octane medical franchise to live exclusively in the field, where the real action is. Trauma is an intense, action-packed look at one of the most dangerous medical professions in the world: first responder paramedics.
Be sure to check out all three promos after the break. For all the latest news on NBC’s upcoming Fall schedule, go here.
