Chris and Joe are back once again this week with a brand new episode of The Flickcast. That’s right, four in a row! Amazing again and again. Speaking of amazing, this week’s episode (as they often do) includes lots of amazing topics covering all things geek.
Some of these include the new, awesome trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past, the fact that Tom Cruise isn’t such a bad guy, their predictions for the end of The Walking Dead and their love for craft beer.
Speaking of craft beer, Chris and Joe both picked the same thing this week. Shocking, right? That’s right, the guys both picked the show Brew Dogs, which airs on the Esquire Network. Check it out, it’s fun.

This week on The Flickcast Chris and Joe are back once again and ready to dig deep into all the geek news, and more, you could possibly stand. The boys kick it off once again with more discussion on the latest actor to play the iconic Doctor in Doctor Who. He’s Peter Capaldi and the boys wonder: is he a good choice and what will happen to the show now?
They also get into other topics like Broadchurch, the latest BBC drama to to the States starring former Doctor David Tennant, Harrison Ford (and others) jumping onto the Expendables bandwagon for Expendables 3, Johnny Depp’s criticisms of critics, “Blockbuster Fatigue”, and, of course, the usual other geeky stuff.
The boys also made some picks this week including Joe’s pick of the Blu-ray of the sci-fi movie Oblivion
and Chris’ pick of a new, shiny piece of tech called the Google Chromecast.

This week on The Flickcast, things take a bit of a turn for the unusual as Chris and Matt are back to discuss a bunch of new topics and revisit a few old ones. Some of these topics include the Zach Braff Kickstarter and what it means for the future of filmmaking, who should play Daredevil in the eventual movie, Tom Cruise’s Oblivion, ordering pizza from your XBox, the secret origins of Dungeons & Dragons, cat rape and a whole lot more.
You’ll just have to listen. I will all make sense (mostly). They also made some picks his week, as usual, with Matt’s being the website Star Wars Uncut and Chris’ being the Brian K. Vaughn and Fiona Staples comic book series Saga.

Hey all! As I am sure some of the regular readers of The Flickcast have noticed, my favorite part of the Con season is taking pics at them. Unfortunately, due to some professional responsibilities, I was only able to get down to one day of WonderCon this year.
But because my time was limited, I didn’t waste it on panels and the like. Instead I hit the floor with camera in hand and got as many pics of the Wondercon sights as I could.
While WonderCon doesn’t have the size of San Diego or New York Comic Con, the fans there weren’t any less fervent with their cosplay love. This year I saw a lot of new and original costumes I had not seen before. While a pimped out Boba Fett was present, I also saw for the first time Paper Mario as well as a group of female X-Man villains. Alongside the working R2 units, there was a life sized Wall-E that sadly the picture doesn’t do justice as it captured all of the personality of the movie and brought it to life in front of us all.

Say what you will about Tom Cruise, his movies are usually pretty entertaining. Most recently, we enjoyed the latest in the Mission Impossible franchise and are actually looking forward to more.
Next up for Cruise is the sci-fi action extravaganza Oblivion. In the film Cruise plays one of the last humans on earth after an alien war devastates the planet. After rescuing a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft, he stumbles upon survivors of the war who paint a much different picture of Earth’s past. . . and its future.
The film is directed by by Tron: Legacy‘s Joseph Kosinski and also stars Morgan Freeman, Olga Kurylenko, Melissa Leo, Zoe Bell and Andrea Riseborough. Look for it to arrive on April 19th.
Check out the new trailer after the break.
