• Michel Gondry got tired of the studios taking too long for the expected remake, so he decided to make his own low-budget remake of Taxi Driver. Here’s the trailer.
• Fans may have hated Nic Cage’s original Ghost Rider film, but with Crank’s Neveldine and Taylor on the sequel, and this trailer looking amazing, we can’t help but get excited.
• Dario Argento has earned the respect of horror and crime fans everywhere, but even he can’t expect us to ignore the putridness of this trailer for Dracula 3D. What was he thinking?
• A brand new fan trailer with giant robots has hit the web, and this time it only cost $150. The difference? It looks better than some multi-million dollar pictures.

As a fan of the Star Tours attractions on both coasts, I was excited to go to the D23 panel on the making of Star Tours: The Adventures Continue… I crowded into the 1,000+ seat ballroom, not knowing what Imagineer insights awaited me.
In true Disney fashion, the panel was a professionally crafted presentation, with no room for questions..errr, I mean error. In this panel, lead Imagineer, Tom Fitzgerald, spoke with the aid of Powerpoint and took us on the journey to bring this attraction into the future.
Tom Fitzgerald, began his Star Tours story in 1998 when George Lucas summoned the Imagineer team to his ranch to watch the pod race, and only the pod race. After seeing the infamous scene, the Imagineers decided to wait to see the rest of the film, hoping against hope that it would the pod race would be scrapped for something way cooler.
Ok, so Tom said, “In fact, we did think it was a great idea”, but I can read between the lines. Interestingly back in 1998, way before the 3D onslaught, the Imagineers knew the ride was going to be in 3D.

Welcome to another edition of On the Radar where we delve into all corners of the entertainment, tech and geek Internets for news, views and whatnot that may have escaped our regular coverage during the week. Let is know if we missed something interesting.
Let’s get started!
• Jamie Foxx is no Will Smith, but that didn’t stop Quentin Tarantino from getting him to play his slave (in a non-offensive way) in Django Unchained.
• We’ll be getting the final film in a mere weeks, but that hasn’t stopped J.K. Rowling from keeping the Harry Potter franchise top-of-brain with the newest marketing ploy, Pottermore.
• Pixar is being pretty secretive about their newest film, Brave. The first thing we’re getting, however, is a glimpse at the very stylized characters of the film.
• We know that Entourage is a pretty douchey show, but this new poster makes us feel like they may just know themselves, and feel really bad about it.
• A Russian company called Stoyn has helped make every 80s fanboy’s dream come true by releasing Pop Culture Popsicles. We have a feeling the Darth Vader flavor may taste more like plastic than anything else.
• The very first images of Peter Jackson’s Hobbit trilogy have hit the web. Strangely, they look identical to Peter Jackson’s last trilogy about a ring…

In case you missed it, yesterday was International Star Wars Day. To commemorate the event or, in some cases, dash the hopes of nerds everywhere, Lucasfilm took the opportunity to announce the full details of the Strar Wars Saga’s impending release on Blu-ray.
Before you bother to read on hoping for some good news, I will save you the suspense. The original, unmodified original trilogy will NOT be in this collection.
Yes, that’s right, if we want to watch Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi in their original, non-Lucas tinkered with versions, we will just have to keep watching those “Definitive Collection” THX Laserdiscs. I’ve got mine, how about you?
However, if you don’t care about how things should be and, instead, want to keep rewarding George Lucas with money for fucking up his own movies, feel free to read on and get all the details.
The six films of the Saga are accompanied by three discs of extras totaling over 40 hours of material – some new, some old. Here’s the full press release from Lucasfilm.

While we may have brought you a very spoilerific Thor video on Friday, we can assure you that this one won’t ruin anything for you. Back during the Super Bowl, Volkswagon had one of the better commercials of the night with their Little Darth Vader spot.
Now Marvel is taking a page from their book with their very own Little Thor commercial. It almost seems like it could be a normal commercial, with the exception that not many kids would want to dress up like The God of Thunder on a whim (at least not yet).
The end of the commercial also has a bit of a WTF ending that may not have gone over so well if this were a real car commercial. Fortunately, its just a spoof — and a pretty funny one at that.
The real Thor is set to hit May 3rd and stars Chris Hemsworth as the title character. Alongside Hemsworth, the film stars Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Kat Dennings, Clark Gregg, Idris Elba, Ray Stevenson, Rene Russo, and Tom Hiddleston.
Until then, enjoy the commercial after the jump.

Welcome to another edition of On the Radar where we delve into all corners of the entertainment, tech and geek Internets for news, views and whatnot that may have escaped our regular coverage during the week. Let is know if we missed something interesting.
Let’s get started!
• If you’re not watching Showtime’s Shameless, you should be. And if you need an excuse, how about Amy Smart guest starring as a sexy best friend?
• Set phasers to Feng shui! Turn your bland room into a new world with these killer Star Trek wall decals. Who needs a date when you have a full-sized Commander Uhura wall sticker?
• James Cameron says that Tom Cruise is still a potential star for his upcoming adaptation of the HP Lovecraft book At The Mountains of Madness. No, the irony is not lost on us.
• Reality can be pretty bleak sometimes. The one thing that could splice it up? 80′s and 90′s-era video game characters running amok.
• His mask may not have rubber wings, but here are a ton of new pictures of Chris Evans as Cap in Captain America: The First Avenger.
• Stephen King has had a pretty big week, but that hasn’t stopped him from giving us 10 things he knows about The Stand coming to theaters.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed came to a pretty definitive conclusion (depending on the path you chose at the end of the game). No one knew exactly how the game would be able to have a sequel, especially since Starkiller never appears or is mentioned in the events of Star Wars which followed this game. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II may have been the one instance where the cloning on Kamino actually paid off as it has given another opportunity to play as this rouge Sith.
After being condemned by his former mentor, Starkiller escapes a detention block by ripping his way through Stormtroopers and droids alike. The series has taken a notably more brutal turn as Stormtroopers don’t just fall down after being hit by a lightsaber. They are actually ripped to pieces. It will be interesting to see if this carries over to gameplay or if it will just be used in the game’s cinematics. As seen in the original Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, droids and objects in the environment were often split to pieces. There is certainly a chance they could do the same with people in this game. The force powers also look to have been given a violent upgrade as one looks like it literally vaporizes enemies.
Stick close to the Flickcast for more trailers and news from E3 and check out the new “Betrayal” trailer after the jump.

One of the greatest and perhaps most under-appreciated feature of stand-alone GPS devices from Garmin and TomTom is the ability to download and use custom voices. Who doesn’t want the A-Team‘s Mister T shouting as you drive, “I pity the fool who doesn’t turn right in point two miles?”
I don’t want to live in a world where such things aren’t possible. TomTom specifically, has brought some great voices to market over the past few years. Homer Simpson as an example. KITT from Knight Rider for another. Even David Hasselhoff has his own voice pack for GPS devices. And yet, something’s been conspicuously absent: Star Wars!
Finally, this deficiency has been resolved with TomTom’s first officially-licensed Star Wars voice download. First up? Vader. For $12.95 you can download the Darth Vader voice to your TomTom device and begin geeking out every time you get in your car. Some of Vader’s helpful lines for the directionally-challenged include:
“Depart. Your destiny lies with me. Obi Wan knew this to be true.”
“Turn around when possible. I find your lack of faith disturbing. Then, take the third left. Sense your way.”
“Left turn ahead. Then, go around the roundabout. The circle is now complete. Sith exit.”
Awesome. TomTom plans to release additional Star Wars-themed voice packs in the near future. C3P0, Yoda and Han Solo are coming soon and will probably be priced similarly. Hit the official TomTom Star Wars portal for some great free content for your GPS including Star Wars-themed start up screens, sounds and car icons.
In the meantime, check out a great video of Darth Vader recording some instructions after the jump. You won’t want to miss this!

As if the geek community (myself included) wasn’t excited enough when Adidas announced their line of Star Wars themed clothes last month, but the clothing company just amped up their marketing with a sexy new commercial, which should get plenty of people ready.
The commerical, which suspiciously aired just in time for the Super Bowl in a few weeks, shows off plenty of the new articles of clothing, including the X-Wing shoes and Darth Vader hoodie.
The clothes are certainly worth a purchase from any true fan of Lucas’ universe, regardless of age. Check out Adidas’ official site for the line, and be sure to get even more excited by watching the new commercial after the jump.

While it may be a few decades late, Star Wars has now become a fashion statement of sorts, with Adidas branding the film series for a line of shoes. As much as we’d love for these to make it onto our Holiday Gift Idea list, they won’t be hitting the retail shelves until January 2010.
With the new line, you can show off your support of the Empire or the Rebellion in style. From what we’ve seen in the preview of next year’s line, the following shoes will be split into three packs – Characters, Vehicles, and the Direct Pack.
Characters Pack
This pack takes the most iconic moments and characters from the Star Wars saga and brings them to life across five sneakers, two short sleeve T-shirts and the Superstar Track Top.
Vehicles Pack
For this pack, we have taken inspiration from the well known vehicles and crafts from the Star Wars saga and translated them to our five most iconic adidas Originals sneakers and two key adidas Originals apparel models. Across these models we have paid homage to the distinguished features of airborne crafts and land based vehicles from both sides of the Force and executed them to appeal to both adidas and Star Wars fans alike.
