Welcome back to a brand new episode of The Flickcast. Episode 423: Here Comes the Juice!
This week Chris and Joe dive right back into it. First up is WandaVision where they provide insight and analysis of episode 5 of the Marvel/Disney+, where the show might go from here and that very interesting character who popped in at the end. They’ve got some pretty wild theories, but they just might turn out the be correct. We’ll know soon enough.
Then, the boys shift gears to talk about the last two episodes of Amazon Prime’s amazing series The Expanse. Some of the discussion focuses on the penultimate episode of the season with the rest all about the season finale. They also talk about the direction, writing, cinematography and effects of the show, some of the standout acting performances during the season as well as the departure of a series regular and the death of a major character in the season finale (Spoilers).
And yeah, with the actor leaving The Expanse, Chris and Joe do get into some of the reasons why he might have been let go, other examples around the industry and, yes, a bit about “cancel culture.” Sorry, it had to be done.
It’s another big show. Probably the longest episode ever, but it’s chock full of goodness so give it a try. Thanks for listening!

Time is , as usual, short so we’ll make this quick. Here’s another new episode of The Flickcast.
In this the third episode of 2014, Chris and Joe are back in business and on a roll. As always, they’ve spared no expense and pulled no punches discussing the topics of this week’s show.
Some of these topics include the Oscar nominations, casting news from the movies Ant Man and Dr. Strange and more in the continuing discussion of the evolution of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Of course, there’s whole lot of that more you’ve come to expect from a quality program like this, but we can’t give it all away, now can we? You’ll just have to listen.
This week’s picks include Chris’ pick of the TV show Helix and Joe’s pick of the comic Miracle Man from Marvel.

One of our favorite comic book writers, Matt Fraction, has a new series coming out from Marvel and we are, of course, excited to bring you a preview of it today. The new comic, called Defenders, takes the superhero genre and bends it in a brand new and very fun way.
But don’t take our word for it, here’s the official scoop from Marvel:
When the impossible is everywhere and the very fabric of reality is threatened by insanity, the world needs more than super heroes…they need Defenders! Enter Defenders #1, from the top-selling creative team of Matt Fraction (Fear Itself, Invincible Iron Man, Mighty Thor) and Terry Dodson (Uncanny X-Men), as Doctor Strange assembles a new team of heroes to face a new kind of threat that will leave readers shocked.
Doctor Strange, Iron Fist, Namor, Red She-Hulk, Silver Surfer and more of your favorite Marvel Heroes will band together exploring corners of the Marvel Universe you never knew existed for missions so deadly they have to be kept secret. Once a Defender, always a Defender – no matter the cost or sacrifice.
Fraction is joined by artist Terry Dodson and to help get you as excited as we are, check out poreview pages for the comic after the break. Look for Defenders #1 in comic shops on December 7.

Marvel and Disney have been on a roll this year with their films Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger. Both films have pulled in three quarters of a billion dollars in the worldwide box office, and that number is still growing. So what’s the plan now?
Joss Whedon’s Avengers is already half in the can, and films like Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 are already in the works for a 2012/2013 release, but Disney has just inked a deal for two Marvel films to get 2014 releases on May 16 and June 27. What could those films be?
Popular opinion states that the June 27th release will likely be a sequel to Captain America, which makes the most amount of sense, as it’s a good amount of time after the first round of sequels hits. Another thought is a possible Hulk sequel/reboot as Mark Ruffalo is progressing the character’s story in next year’s Avengers.
